Default Poker for Fun or Poker for Money?

Which do you enjoy playing more and why? For me I like both, but playing just for fun seems to take a bit of pressure out of it a little. At least to me, what about you guys?

Online I strictly play for fun. I use online poker to kill some time and have some fun. It helps me learn new hands and plays, etc., but it's mostly entertainment for me. I guess if I won more, I would play for money, knowing I had a chance of winning some more.

When I play in person, I enjoy playing, but then I really do concentrate on managing the game right so I can play longer, which entails growing my pot. So in person, I definitely concentrate on winning money versus just having fun.

I almost always make sure to play for money. This ensures two things; that I take the game as serious as possible, and that my opponents take the game seriously as well. I have found that people do not really play as they normally would when they know that they are not playing for anything. They tend to play recklessly and go "fishing" instead of playing as they normally would had they had something on the line. Although I may not play for much money at any given table, I always play for at least a dollar or so buy-in to make sure it's an actual game.

yeah I agree all the way. But, 1 dollar I think people will tend to still play loose, $5 minimum for a semi serious game. It also depends on what you consider alot of money too. But always have to have a stake no play money. Unless you are teaching some one to play.

Thanks

If I am playing for money, I play at the casinos. For fun, I play with my friends and we use change. I enjoy playing with my friends more, but I certainly have fun at the casinos if I am winning!

Playing for money is alot more fun in the end because it brings out your best game.

I'd rather play for fun with people I know, while the money is fun, people tend to play a "tighter" game. Some of the best laughs and games I've had are when people screw up. And we all screw up from time to time, when it's for fun you can laugh with the people who are laughing at you. When it's for money, you tend to hate yourself! lol

Plus for fun you can have those fake and sometimes real tempter tantrums, I guess what I am saying is for fun you get to have emotions, you don't have to worry about tells and your chips.

I like to play for a little of both. If it was not fun I would not bother playing for the money, it just isnt worth it otherwise

Playing for money is more fun when you win.
Playing for fun is when playing with close friends.
I usually turn a fun poker game in a money poker game and all my friends agree.

well , I generally play online for fun but if you can earn some handsome money by playing there is no problem in it. However, win and loss are two facts of game and never get disappointed if you loose game.
