How many of you have a set poker night with your buddies? I play Wednesdays. Which was last night. I won the whole thing for the second time. We had 8 people show up. It was NL holdem $26 buy-in with $6 going to the house (me) to pay for chips and beer. They usually drink way more than their $6 worth though lol. There is one rebuy in for each player. Rebuys start at 20 dollars for the first player. Every time there is a player knocked out of the game permanently the rebuy goes up 10 dollars. Well anyway, I didnt mean to ramble hahah. What kind of games do you guys play with your buddies? What are the rules and limits, etc? I am just wondering so we can restructure our game. Hopefully, I can find something that gives a higher percentage to the house lol!

My buddie used to take a rake and he provided booze and food, with a cocktail waitress. He would make a killing. But it was a big no limit game for a home game. It went for about a year then died out. Some people went broke, some just lost interest. I have no games that I go to now, hope we can get something going on a poker site so we can play each other.

I currently have a weekly game with my friends from high school to keep my mind sharp. This is mainly because I try to get to vegas (with these guys) every year or so and see how we do just playing. Traveling to vegas is like the "ultimate test" for us, and we see who can come up the farthest ahead at the end of a weekend. Although it's all in good fun for this little competition, we all like to gamble equally and we like to help each other learn and get better as players. I recommend finding some fun/skilled people to play with on a regular basis because it can give you a reprieve from the monotony of life while also sharpening your skills.

We use to hold weekly games and played with chips only. No actual money. Chip leader at end of night won the $$$ - usually $20 per head. So after having a fun night of playing, one of us would walk away with $120. Everyone would bring snack and drinks. It was sooooo much fun.

Then WSOP and others became huge, and some wanted to play with real money. Took the fun out of it because some of them would bet too big and lose too much. Then we would feel like we had to return the money to whoever because we knew they had a car payment to make or groceries to buy. So the die hards - those that still don't mind blowing their mortgage payment - go to the local HardRock Casino (Tampa) and throw it away there.

The rest of us get together about once a month to play the ol' chip only game. And I'm perfectly happy if my husband or I only walk away with $120. And we are perfectly happy if we walk away with nothing. The time we spend with friends is great and it's cheaper and more exciting than spending the $20 each for a mediocre meal at a restaurant.

We try to play at least twice a month, but we usually play using change. It's alot of fun and different people play host and provide snacks and drinks each time.

I used to before kids! We all ended up having kids so we end up all getting together maybe once a year. That doesn't mean that 2 or 3 of use don't have a small game but the big "monster" games that ended up in trash talk happen rarely now. I do miss them!

I live with a lot of roomates and we get together every wednesday we can to play a little cash game between us

I live in hostel and I have a huge group of fun loving friends which play poker. We use to play once in every week and usaually the loosers have to pay for pizaa's offered to winnig team.

I can't seem to get ppl around here interested. My friends are all dull.

We use to play once a week on a random night that everyone could get together. We would have anywhere from 20-30 people show up. We played NL Holdem with a $20 buy in and no rebuy. But usually after a few people got knocked out they would start a side game for like $5 or $10 buy in.
