Default General Tournament Strategy

Just wondering if anybody had a general tournament strategy to share. I know it is hard without specifying tournament specs, but I was just going along the lines of a general strat for a basic tournament. (ie: sandbagging, bluffing, buying , pot odds, etc).

Personally, I start off a fairly conservative player, and try to build up some chips that way. After I have some to play with, I can get pretty wreckless and tend to bully and bluff a lot.

Too funny, I tend to play the exact same way. I also bank on peoples tells. The faster you find them the better off you are.

Yeah, tells are an important part of the game. That is why I like to play in person and shy away from online play.

Do you guys even do fake stuff to make it look like you are bluffing? I am a girl and try to use that to my advantage. Sometimes I'll giggle or smile, and it always makes this one guy I play with think that I am bluffing. I'll just do it randomly, whether i'm bluffing or not, and he gets really confused. lol

LOL!! I know its so funny and really easy to use being a girl to your advantage. I think its ok, cause a lot of guys are condescending and arrogant when playing with a girl, so its a little bit of payback.

Thumbs up playing

I must be strange, I do not think I have a plan or strategy when I play poker, a lot of my game play has a lot to do with the way the other players are playing so a lot of time I will sit back and I will not make any big moves and try to watch the other players and then after a bit I get more into the game and start to make my PLAYS, also it depends on the kind of mood I am in and that has a lot to do with the way I play.

Man, I will never be a poker pro, LOL darn!

I just love to play the game and I am not out to be a poker pro and even if I was I do not think I would even get close to being or even playing with a poker pro.

Funny enough I did that one night and had no idea. My husband and I went out for my birthday to The Hilton. We were just playing and having fun. Well, I sit down at this low limit table and there was this kid. I couldnt believe it, because whatever the guy had in his hand for a high card he would flip over. He even won almost every hand. I had never seen anything lie that in my life. Well, my husband transferred and called me one day to ask if I was watching the WSOP. When I told him I was he asked if I recognized anyone there. The kid that Jamie Gold called out for dropping the F bomb and what now was the kid that we were playing with that night. It was awesome.

LOl, that is crazy! I wonder why he was playing at a low limit table? Ok, another question, Can you really have a stategy when playing online? How does it affect your bluffing and calling? I mean if you can't see the other players you just have to guess when to call somebody? Remember I'm a newbie so maybe this is a stupid question, but just wondering.
