Default Looking for Online Poker Guru

I'm debating about it. If you've played online poker a bit...let us know the in's and out's... how different is it (other than the obvious) than playing in person. By obvious I mean yeah...we know it's not in person and you can't read people. But really...from the standpoint of someone who has done it quite a bit (hence...guru)...what tips for people just meandering into the online poker world?

Is it really easy to get your butt handed to you? Are people online more rude than in person? Is it better to feel out a new site by only getting in games with a ten cent buy-in?

Are games online more loose because there are so many novice players online?

Are the sites that also have like...sports betting and horse racing along with poker more loose because those betters decide to try to win back their money by doin da poke?

I'm playing online everyday. Always Sit&Go 6 people 1 table game. At least 3 games per night. The main differance between online and live as I see - online I'm playing cards only. I may bluff sometimes, very rarely depending on style of other players. We play 6 people tournament at my house almost every other week and I noticed people bluffing muuuch more live. One of my friends bluffing 80% of his hands and doing it sooo good, that it's hard to recognize what he has and stay in till the last card to see who's won. For me online is easier.

Default Live poker is not the same as online poker

General comparison:

$1/$2 live poker skill level = 0.10/0.25 online poker skill level according to Dan Harrington, or = 0.05/0.10 online according to a friend who is a dealer and online player.

Dumb comparison, Playing onlive vs live, 2 completely different environments. You cant play the odds with $1/$2 games, at this level all in for a dollar, who cares?

If you play $20/$40 dollar games then $1/$2 games are there to build your bank roll or to warm up when you first log in same as if you play $50/$100 then $20/$40 are stack builders.

Don't get dragged into odds at this level, its more about slow cautious playing to build your roll a dollar at a time.

Judging from the casinos I've been in, I would say this live vs. online comparison is about right. Here in Stuttgart, the 2/4€ Cash Game is about as skillful as the 2/4c Cash Game online, although, admittedly, there are a couple of sharks in the casino, easy to avoid though.
Speaking of online poker, of course the level of play is different basicly on every table, let alone different platforms. Having played a lot on both PokerStars and PartyPoker, I assume the level of play on PokerStars is roughly as good as the subsequent higher level on PartyPoker. I have about the same BB/100 rate at PokerStars' NL50 as I have on PartyPoker's NL100. Playing NL100 on PokerStars, I'm having more problems making money. People will 3bet a lot more often, but also laydown their hands quite some time if getting 4betted.
If the Pokerroom does also provide casino games, I have found the play in these rooms way more fishy (PartyPoker provides casino games, PokerStars doesn't... ^^). I think that people who just want to gamble rather play live so the level of play is better online. That allows for some rather creative plays online in comparison to live poker, so it's not all bad. With more action due to multi-tabling, opponents who at least seem to know what they're doing and more flexibility, I actually prefer online poker in general. Of course, live poker is very different and features some dimensions of the game I wouldn't toally miss out on...

Default No Deposit Casinos

It does not make much difference whether it is online poker or playing in person that is the offline poker. The only difference might be the thing that in the online version you might be playing with a computer chip and in the offline poker version you will be face to face with another person..

I think there is no much difference between online and live poker. The game you play is same but the way of knowing the tells is different.

Default Hello everyone,

Hello everyone,

I am an amateur Pokter, I like to play occasionally with friends and not long ago I learned about the freeroll tournaments that are very nice because they bind to nothing and I find ca a good way to train.

I am an amateur, but I still think that at least once in my life in Las Vegas to the WSOP, even if I gain nothing is really history to have that feeling of playing in Las Vegas with the greatest.

Good until I play on the internet.

I think that playing on the internet especially in tournaments are 2 strategies.

so do carpets quickly enough to climb faster, the foot is his password or his case but since it is a freeroll was not lost because we did not put any money into games.

so wait patiently for the right hand to play this last much longer to rapidly increase his stack, but were less likely to get out quickly, so more likely to fit in the gains, while the first can be out in 5 minutes after commencement.

What do you think? If you have any other please let me say??

If I wanted to ask you about Unibet play you?? them what time? and with maximum participation cb??

And also if you have passwords for freeroll UNIBET if you can save by its good will, as in those with password has fewer participants arrive and see a password freeroll slightly higher Besides, I do not understand why.

I will try to answer some of your questions.

First it depends what you want to play. the cash games can offer you more reward in terms of quick money but they can also drain you quickly. My suggestion is without question if you are going to play a cash game then you should play super tight and bet when you're on a hand. In terms of tourneys they are usually a better option when you want to limit financial risk but they require a significant time investment. If you are going to play a sit and go then the strategy should be to play tight early and then loosen u abit as the blinds go up. Need to play position well in these tourneys.
If your are looking to play other bet then paradise poker offers other betting through sporting bet.
Anyways I WOULD TAKE THE TIME TO LEARN BEFORE JUMPING RIGHT IN. IT COULD BE COSTLY.
