Yeah I dont know of to many poker movies, so I guess Rounders would be my favorite movie. Very good cast. Worm pisses me off, he always wants to cheat and be greedy. Definetly shows the ups and downs of a poker player, but on a bigger scale. I'm sure those senerios are true, in those back house pokerrooms. Loan sharks, cheats.

I am a huge fan of Bond and loved Casino Royale. I think the poker scene could be even longer.

Rounders would have to be my favorite poker movie. I was trying to recall others, Maverick and Casino Royale, came to mind. Maverick is cheesy, but good entertainment. Casino Royale has some good poker scenes, but isn't really about poker.

So, in my quest to learn about other poker movies I searched The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and couldn't find any other movies with poker in them that I recalled being a good movie. What a shame! Someone out there...add 'writing great poker movie' to your to-do list.

I love Casino Royale too, but I was wondering if anyone saw the movie 21 (I think that's the name) that came out recently.

I haven't seen 21 yet, but I plan too. I heard it was a somewhat entertaining movie, but some feel the methods used to cheat were highly exaggerated. Me, I don't care if the methods are exaggerated, anything that generates interest in the game is good. Plus, I love movies, so its a win-win.

I too would love to hear a real pro's opinion on it....

Okay- I saw it and it is good- but I have to agree that the cheating stuff was really exaggerated, but it was mildly entertaining.

Rounders would have to get a mention because it's like Good Will Hunting with poker.

Ok now technically this isn't a poker movie but it is a casino movie so I'll say it, Oceans! All of the Oceans movies are great, there is a sort of control and class that feels like a well played poker game.

yeah Rounders is definetly my favorite poker movie, damon and norton worked well together.
