I've started reading Harrington on Hold 'em Expert Strategy for No Limit Tournaments, Vol. 1: Strategic Play a few weeks ago. It's fantastic !!! It's perfect for beginners and intermediates. It's laid out to where each chapter gives you a complete lesson - no rambling on like some poker books. Some friends of mine recommended it after they read it and started winning big. I'll keep you posted on whether it helps my game or not.

Thanks for the information pokerblonde but I like to ask you a question. These strategies are there that can be used to play online or only in real casino? I ask because I have friends who like me have doubts because sometimes we play in heracasino.com and have that curiosity. I say this because I play blackjack and roulette but I'm curious to play some poker. I hope for your response.

My favrourite is harrison on holdem.

It is a great resource. Other good resources are sites that educate you month by month. They seem to be very effective in building a strong foundation. I like the fact that on some of them their is a running education through the forums.

One of my favorite new books is Daniel Negreanu's Power Hold'em Strategy. I'm not a big fan of all the sections but you really need to read Daniel's small ball strategy section.

I can't believe nobody mentioned Super System as well, that's a great book and I think that every player should read both Super System and Super System 2 if you want to get serious about poker.
