A few days ago, I was playing with the regular group of guys and one of my friends was on a hot streak. He continued to go up and up, but on one hand, it caught up to him and he lost it all. Feeling the luck on that night, he put down his watch for collateral and we spotted him the chips for the price of his watch. Little did we know that it was a family heirloom and it meant a lot to him, he just felt so lucky that he thought he wouldn't lose it. He ended up having to part ways with it, which was later returned to him because of it's sentimental value. Have any of you all ever won something that was very personal or ever had to give back winnings like in this situation?

I would just quit if I even thought about using the family heirlooms for collateral, but I have played for coupons before like on Mr. Mom.

Dont know if this counts or not, but when I get together with my friends, we always play a short first game to see who has to buy the pizza and beer for the night. It is usually the hardest fought game of the night.

Back when I was young and stupid, one of my friend bet his car. Me, being young and stupid, went ahead with it.

Luckily I won, and made 400 back on his newer truck, but after that I never have done it again.

My friends and I bet with chocolate once. It wasn't that exciting but at least you couldn't leave penniless haha.

Only in fun ways in friendly games. Things like losers have to buy the beer sort of thing. Never bet or won anything of great personal signifigance. I don't think I'd want to get into it if people started betting their family jewels, car, etc. Sounds like the kind of thing that would be more headache than it was worth.

I once played a game with some not-so-honorable people. When I won they offered to pay me in illegal substances... I declined.

Me and my friends use to bet chocolate and pizza. So, even if you have not won and have to pay for pizza's you won't be feeling bad.
